I know it’s possible with aftertouch on an electronic kit, but how would I do it without that? With just straight drawing in midi.
Some cymbals seem to have midi notes that are a choke sound, but the china I’m trying to use doesn’t have one.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
When you choke a cymbal, you are “playing” the Mute Tail articulation. It doesn’t have a MIDI note by default, but you can assign a note to it (in the MIDI Mapping box). After that, you can add a note in the Grid Editor when you want the cymbal to choke!
