How to control SD3 playback when open in Cubase?

Does anyone have a way to stop the infuriating playback that happens when SD3 is open within Cubase Pro 9 ? You do an edit then go to hit enter or the space bar and if you don’t have the Cubase window in focus then SD3 opens up menu options instead – so you go back to Cubase to get it in focus and sometimes have to hit the the locator keys then playback – I find it totally annoying and distracting.

Hi,

I am not familiar with Cubase settings but if you turn off Keyboard Shortcuts in Settings > General in SD3, does it make any difference?

May I ask what you use Enter key for in Cubase – opening the MIDI editor?
Is there a difference if you press space when having Cubase in focus vs. having SD3 in focus? Both should just start the playback in Cubase.
