Hi there,
How do I go about connecting SD3 on my laptop to my Pearl Mimic Pro?
I’ve tried using a USB cable from laptop to the USB on my Pearl Mimic, but SD3 doesn’t appear to see the Mimic.
In searching various forums before posting this, I did see something about not being able to use USB from laptop to Mimic to connect them – please don’t let this be true… : (
A quick look through the user’s manual seems to me that the USB port is for nothing other than to plugin a USB drive for adding additional samples to the ‘brain’ . My guess is that you would need a MIDI interface to connect to a host (Mac/PC). Again I don’t use the unit, but the manual online doesn’t seem to support the notion of USB to host connectivity. My 2 cents.

Thanked by: sensei_russI ordered a Roland version of the one you linked Brad – just before I saw your post. I think they’re essentially the same thing?

I’ll try the mio if the Roland doesn’t work out. Thanks for the heads-up!
The Roland should work fine, I would be surprised if they’re not same internal components.
Cheers
