How to change the amount of choke on cymbal?

Hi. I’ve been wondering how to change the amount of the ring you from a cymbal before it gets choked. When I go through the piano roll the one that is there amongst the other cymbal hits sends long before it chokes off.

Hi,

 

the Mute Hits are velocity controlled; the harder you hit, the shorter the ring.

If you have a keyboard that sends Aftertouch, you can use this to mute the regular Cymbal hit. You can also draw Aftertouch in your DAW.

I see where aftertouch is….but if I draw it in on the over heads it then affects my Hi hat sound. I can just alter the cymbal itself with aftertouch?
