How to adjust volume in Garageband?

Hi, I have EZD3 loaded on its on track in GarageBand, but can’t adjust the volume like the other tracks. If I lower the volume way down, it stays for the duration of that playback, but as soon as I stop the song and replay it, the EZD volume slider jumps back up. No other track or midi has ever done this. Am I missing something? Thanks.

Is there an automated volume control on the EZD track?

It sounds like your instrument track is in Read mode with volume automation applied. You can do one of three things: either delete the automation, adjust the volume automation, or put the track in Write or Latch mode and adjust your track volume while it is playing.
