Hi
In sd3 stand-alone I noticed that the classic comp is applied to the whole drum track where all the outputs are routed to 1/2.
I am using sd3 with reaper and recording drums via midi with separate channels for the drums .
Is there a way to add the classic comp to all the channels without having to add the effect to each individual channel in sd3, in other words have it set up similar to the stand alone .
At the moment I am converting the drum tracks to midi file then adding the file to the stand alone sd3 to add the classic comp.
This just seems a bit longwinded
Any help greatly appreciated
thanks
In mixing, there really is no way to duplicate the effect of how a 2-bus compressor interacts with multiple sources by using multiple instances of the compressor on all of the individual channels. The vibe and sound comes from how the all of the channels interact through the single compressor.
IOW, you’re better off routing all of the individual drum channels in Reaper to a bus and added adding a compressor there.

Superior Drummer 3 version: 3.1.4
Operating system: Windows 10
No. The effects in S3 can only be used in S3. You’ll have to use one from Reaper or a 3rd party VST.
