How to add different articulations in snare stack

For example in the Djent preset the second and third snare in the stack are rimshots, not centers. Whenever I change my articulations for my second and third snare to rimshot it reverts back to center when I click away from the drop down. How do I get rimshot to stick?

Where are you changing the hits? Drawing them in on the MIDI editor? Can you explain what you are doing a bit more?

So basically I’m building my own kit. I’m using snare stacks. I’m using the Djent snare stack as a starting reference. If you look at the stack you’ll see the Tama Brass has a center hit, a Hit hit and the Gretsch has a rimshot hit. Those three hits combined are the snare stack for that snare on that preset. I’m trying to do the same for the kit I’m building but I can change the different snare hits in my stack, I want one of my layered samples to be a rimshot while the others being centers
