In the EZdrummer product details page there are 3 different Kickdrums:
18″x22″ GMS Bassdrum with felt and plastic beater
14″x22″ GMS Bassdrum doublehead
14″x22″ GMS Bassdrum with felt and plastic beater
In my EZdrummer software there are the following available:
22″ GMS Felt Beater
22″ GMS Plastic Beater
22″ GMS Open Kick
22″ GMS2 Felt Beater
22″ GMS2 Plastic Beater
wheras the sound of the first two is absolute identical to the last two. Only the Open Kick differs.
Additionally the sound of the Kick drum in the EZdrummer demo1 for example is a lot bigger than in the software. (richness, bass)
So what is wrong here?
I’ve upgraded from EZdrummer lite. Can this be the reason?
Michael
Hi Michael,
seems like you found a naming bug for us.
Here’s what it should be, if I’m not mistaken:
22″ GMS Felt Beater = 18×22 GMS felt beater
22″ GMS Plastic Beater = 18×22 GMS plastic beater
22″ GMS Open Kick = 14×24 GMS double headed coated.
22″ GMS2 Felt Beater = 14×24 GMS felt beater
22″ GMS2 Plastic Beater 14×24 GMS plastic beater.

Okay. Thanks for your reply. But what shall i do now?
I’ve purchased EZdrummer about 10 days ago, received the upgrade from EZdrummer lite, downloaded and installed it yesterday and liked to hear some different Kick Drum sounds.
But now there are only two: one Open Kick sound and one “don’t know” sound.
Maybe Felt Beater, Plastic Beater, 22″ or 24″. I don’t know. All four sound identically.
So can you give me a hint what to do?
Michael
What do you mean by ‘can you give me a hint what to do’?
There are 3 kicks to choose from: 18×22 GMS, 14×24 GMS double headed, and a 14×24 GMS (the ones that say ‘GMS2’ in the menu). You pick the kick drum that sound the best for the song you’re working on.

It sounds like that demo isn’t using the hardest velocity level on the kick. Back off your kick velocities and the tone will be more ’round’ sounding.
