I have a customer that has given me a heck of a task, He wants me to take a song that he recorded on tape, of which the layed down tempo was done on a shaker, which was layed over a metronome that was erased…. And theres a couple problems with that,
A. The tracker says the tempo is extremely unstable
B. The customer wants me to lay over the music a tempo that would fit that, without sounding weird
So
1. Does Superior Drummer even do that?
2. How does that even work?
Personally, I would import the track into my DAW (in my case Pro Tools) and map the Tempo, Bars and Beats there. Then I would start building the track with SD3 host synching. If necessary, I would export a MIDI file from the host to import the Tempo map into the SD3 track.

As above but in my case Cubase. SD3 is not really the right tool to do this.
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
Logic handles this great with smart tempo.
I might be able to help with this if you don’t have access to logic

Agree. Pretty much any modern DAW cater for this quite happily. My Presonus Studio One can be added to the list.
