A physical Sustain Pedal for your keyboard solves this. Also some midi controller have a Sustain Button to push if there is no sustain pedal.

Thank you.  I picked one up after work today and it instantly gave me sustain.  However, now my problem is the notes sustain for far too long and overlap, creating terrible chords.  I see knobs for dampening and length in EZbass, which sounds like exactly what I want to control, but for whatever reason I’m unable to use those controls while playing live.  If there were a way to prevent overlapping notes then that too would solve the problem, I believe.

So it’s looking like there’s no possible way to play a simple one note at a time bass line with EZbass while playing along with a prerecorded track.  But it’s hard to believe this is correct, otherwise it seems like every single person who purchased this would be complaining about it.  MODO, Trillian and Omnisphere do this with no issues.

I made a short video about it.  https://youtu.be/BMWcMjqfIq0

I think you should start a thread “EZBass feature request” in this area… https://www.toontrack.com/forums/forum/customer-service/requests-and-feedback/

I think at the moment, you literally need to be hammering that sustain pedal constantly to get what you’re looking for like a pro keyboardist would to get that effect. Which would be a pain in the butt for someone that does not already have that skill. I did search “sustain” in the manual after poking around the other day for you, I don’t think you’re going to find what you’re looking for. I think it’s a valid feature request if the competition is doing it.

As a side note, controller #67 (CC67) should be controlling damping, I have a knob on my MIDI keyboard assigned to it for recording damping while playing.
