    Hi,

what is the origin of those MIDI files? There is no built-in MIDI file properties editor in SD3, I could think of a workaround but only if it were a few odd files.

My question exactly. Every MIDI file that I’ve ever gotten from the web does not have ‘thousands of bars’. It would be great if the OP had another way he could see what’s in the files like a General MIDI synth program as used in a daw.

hey guys, thanks for following up.

I tried “restore midi.” didn’t work.

the origin  of the files are from the midi packs on https://www.getgooddrums.com/

the files themselves don’t seem to have any additional data on them as judged by the size of the files.

I’m not familiar enough with what could possibly cause thousands of bars worth of dead space to appear to troubleshoot this. All i did was drag the midi folders, after unzipping them, into my SD3 user folder. Perhaps that method was flawed in some way i can’t see?

    Thanks in advance.

This is a known issue with GGD MIDI. They inserted metadata (which is meant for their products) that is incompatible with ToonTrack. It would need to be stripped out with a MIDI editing tool (such as MidiKit for the Mac).
