I recorded a song at 280 BPM but I was lazy and didn’t change the project tempo accordingly. This has created a huge problem because I have a whole song recorded but I can’t quantize/edit the hits very well because Superior thinks that I recorded it at 120 BPM. Is there a way to change the tempo of the project without affecting the MIDI that I recorded? Or, alternatively, is there a way to remove the tempo from the MIDI?
Where is the MIDI – in SD3 or your daw? What daw did you use?

I just recorded the MIDI in standalone SD3. However, after I recorded it and came about this problem, I installed Tracktion Waveform Free to see if I could do something with the MIDI I recorded in there. However, I could not find anything.

You could try Studio One demo. Import MIDI to S1, set the track to “don’t follow”. Change the tempo in S1. Export MIDI and import into SD3.
Or Pro Tools; set your midi tracks to sample based tracks instead of tick based. It´s the little metronome on every track in the edit window

Thanked by: Scott Eshleman, drumjack52 and NokturatThat worked!!! Thank you so much. However, I couldn’t find any option for the track that said “don’t follow” but I instead went into the inspector and changed the timebase to seconds instead of beats.

Ugh… sorry about that. Inspector > Timebase; “Seconds” for MIDI. Tempo; “Don’t Follow” for Audio. Glad you got it working, in spite of my incorrect instructions.
Cheers
