I’ve deleted the samples from my Windows browser, but they are still in EZD’s User Audio Files menu. How can I remove them?
Hi,
switching preset or library should clear Imported User Audio Files. Or restarting EZdrummer 3.

Unfortunally that doesn’t work with saved projects. Saved projects keep references to user samples.
Id love to know the answer to this as well. I have a lot of user samples under a saved EZD3 template i created that dont appear to have an option to delete my samples.
Hey,
Same here. I’d would like to keep on the recent list audio samples what I may use, not all samples, what I have tested.
Came here for the same reason. Would like to delete samples that I have tested and rejected.
Can someone from EZ provide a response here? This seems to be a common pain point for users.
Well, one way of clearing that list if you have saved a Project ( remember a Project Saves the entire current state of the EZD3 plug-in ) which means a close and reopen still references those samples on the Recent audio files list, is to manually edit the saved Project file with a Text Editor.
I would suggest duplicating the Project file before editing it manually, in case you slip on the keys. Should you slip up, a corrupt Project file is not harming the EZD3 app or plug-in in any way, it’s just a PITA if you really want to have the Project intact.
If you open the *.ezd3p file with a text editor (I used TextEdit since I’m on a Mac but Notepad should work as well on Windows), the first lines are stating the version of the plugin that saved it, which library is used, microphones and their names.
After that there are two lines of } and then one line of ‘usersounds’ and a number stating how many, ie:
}
}
usersounds (number) {
After that there are full paths to the loaded sounds, followed by a closing line of }, so an example would be:
usersounds 7 {
"/Volumes/SSD_Audio/Audio Samples/Custom One Shots/Toms/SD_Atomic_Tom_6.wav"
"/Volumes/SSD_Audio/Audio Samples/Custom One Shots/Toms/SD_Atomic_Tom_5.wav"
"/Volumes/SSD_Audio/Audio Samples/Custom One Shots/Toms/SD_Atomic_Tom_4.wav"
"/Volumes/SSD_Audio/Audio Samples/Custom One Shots/Toms/SD_Atomic_Tom_3.wav"
"/Volumes/SSD_Audio/Audio Samples/Custom One Shots/Toms/SD_Atomic_Tom_2.wav"
"/Volumes/SSD_Audio/Audio Samples/Custom One Shots/Snare/SD_Hopper_Snare.wav"
"/Volumes/SSD_Audio/Audio Samples/Custom One Shots/Kicks/SD_Alias_Kick.wav"
}
Now, if I don’t want the Atomic_Tom_6.wav to be there in that list (maybe I didn’t like it so I deleted it from my drive), I just change the number to 6 and remove the line referencing it:
usersounds 6 {
"/Volumes/SSD_Audio/Audio Samples/Custom One Shots/Toms/SD_Atomic_Tom_5.wav"
"/Volumes/SSD_Audio/Audio Samples/Custom One Shots/Toms/SD_Atomic_Tom_4.wav"
"/Volumes/SSD_Audio/Audio Samples/Custom One Shots/Toms/SD_Atomic_Tom_3.wav"
"/Volumes/SSD_Audio/Audio Samples/Custom One Shots/Toms/SD_Atomic_Tom_2.wav"
"/Volumes/SSD_Audio/Audio Samples/Custom One Shots/Snare/SD_Hopper_Snare.wav"
"/Volumes/SSD_Audio/Audio Samples/Custom One Shots/Kicks/SD_Alias_Kick.wav"
}
Or maybe I had 20 sounds in that recent list which I all want to be there but I changed the name of my ‘Audio Samples’ folder to ‘Samples’ and don’t want to manually find and add them again, I can just edit the path in the text editor and then save it before I open EZD3 again.
This is of course not an official Toontrack method, I’m just a Forum Tech advisor and how I would solve it if it bothered me. But again, this is not an issue if you haven’t saved a Project and for some reason do not wish to have some audio files on the recent list or you have altered the content/path in some way.

BTW, if you don’t like the idea of editing a Project save file, another way would be to save as a User Preset in ‘Drums and Mixer Presets’.
Since it doesn’t save the current state of the sampler, it would not save the history of User samples, just User samples in use on Instrument pads.
This does not save MIDI on the Song Track, however, if you have any. If you are using EZD3 as a plug-in in a DAW, you can open another instance with your fresh User Preset loaded and drag the MIDI from one Song Track over to the other, then Save as a Project.
