Hello,
I have all the files on a HD where I can see the folders of SL-Allaire, SL-HitFactory, SL-NYVol2_SDX and of course, SL-SuperiorDrummer3.
However, the Toontrack Product Manager shows, “The full sound library is not installed.” So I went ahead and installed them, but the PM says the same.
Should I move the SL_Allaire and SL-HitFactory to the SL-NYVol2_SDX folder? Or…?
TT have already said there’s a bug in the Product Manager. You should be fine… I have NY Vol. 2 as well.

It’s a bug in the product manager app as mentioned above. I had an email conversation with the toontrack support about this subject, but there hasn’t been an update released yet to fix this bug… maybe one day when we don’t dare to hope anymore 😉
Unfortunately this is not the only problem I have to struggle with right now and it looks like Toontrack is generally not very interested in fixing software bugs!
Hardly true… 3.1.7 was released not all that long ago with considerable functional bug fixes. This is a cosmetic bug with a workaround. That’s considered a low priority compared to functional bugs without a workaround.

As a paying customer, I shouldn’t be forced to workaround anything! Every bug is a bug… and it is annoying to see the message “the full sound library is not installed” (but in fact it is!) everytime I open the Toontrack Product Manager app. Furthermore I’m not able to delete the dowloaded sample data of the older SDXs which is redundant after installation… there is no way to delete this data in the Product Manager app, I need to do this manually…. so it’s not only a cosmetic bug.
Of course there are more serious software bugs but you can also find more severe bugs in various Toontrack’s apps without having to search for a long time 😉 And one cannot expect these severe bugs to be fixed promptly!
Perhaps Toontrack should place more value on the further development and troubleshooting of their existing software than on constantly developing new, potentially immature and flawed software and misusing paying customers as betatesters… not to mention Toontrack’s aggressive email marketing through new discounts etc. which is also very annoying.
I just have a plasphemous thought 😉 Perhaps Toontrack could reduce the marketing capacities (… at least a little!) for new employees in the field of software quality assurance? Now that would be great!
Thanks for the very self-entitled remarks. I hate to break the bad news to you but you’re going to be finding yourself working around all software, regardless of what you think. And yes, it is cosmetic in the PM, and not functional. It does not affect your library installation or the playability of SD3, nor does it really hamper the over users experience in any damaging way. You’re just bugged by it because you have to look at it. Nothing more.
Just because they aren’t outputting software to your timeline, that is no indication that they are either uncaring, or incompetent. The fact that they took care of some major install bugs in the last round shows quite the opposite. And considering that they have had numerous releases since launch, is more of an indication that they are paying attention.
Perhaps, go make some music rather than complain in your first three posts.

Thanked by: Alan ScottYour comments are so offensive, outrageous, irrelevant and even DEFENSIVE it’s almost laughable! Well… that reminds me of the saying “a hit dog barks”! Are you just a naive Toontrack fanboy or are you in any way business related to this company? I think each participant of this forum should form his/her own opinion based on your comments here 😉
Anyway… I’m out and making some music as you pretentiously suggested. Life is too short to bother with trolls!

Go look in the mirror… there’s your troll. In fact, you were everything you typed, and you’ve proven that you don’t really have an argument but would rather go on the attack to believe you can bully someone down to prove your point.
But for your information, I happen to be a software developer who knows what it takes to put out any software. I also know that all software has bugs no matter and some bugs are just not priority while more serious bugs take a greater amount of time to undo, and adding more people to the problem is never the solution.
So, coming online and bellyaching and trolling is not going to get problems solved.
