    Update.

Ive figured out how to change the sample rate. That had no effect on the hiss. Particularly heard in the ride bow.

    @Christopher Moros
I had something similar with the stand toms with noiseflags…
after a while I came across a strange behavior:
computer and drum module on 2 different electricity circuits / ground connections and connected per USB
    caused interferences in certain frequencies.
to be heard as sound flags when the played sound becomes quieter / and a bit after ended …
solution a: diconnect usb. transfer midi to audio interface via 5pole (the audiointerface works then as a groundlift)

solution b: all audio used electricity connections in/from 1 circuit

if this helps please write – I am curious whether others also have this problem

I have this also but it happens without a drum machine too.

I only use the software to trigger the drums and the noise is there. It sounds like a bad preamp or mic hiss either way it should not be there.

Its is heard in Pro Tools and in the stand alone.

Has anyone who has complained about this been able to solve the problem?

What preset are you using. Some of them introduce  noise by nature.

I’m using the default kits. I think I’ve narrowed it down to just the rides in the core catalog. When I play in D+D or custom and vintage I don’t notice this. It is pretty apparent with my core ayotte kit and about any ride Ive tried.

however I absolutely love this kit. It is so musical and lively it drive me nuts.

Unless there is a specific ride cymbal that you were referring to, I am not experiencing the same anomaly that you are. I turned up my headphones and listen to a bunch of ride cymbals and they decay fully without any hissing. I tested this with a bunch of mixer channels. What you were probably experiencing is noise resolution of your audio interface at low-volume levels. Once the cymbal decays to a certain level, I wouldn’t be surprised if your interface outputs it as noise.

Hey, Listen to the samples on the website, the noise is there. If they cant produce the demos without it, it’s definitely there. Its not your system.

Hi, could we get some more specifics please? Regarding which instruments and which presets are being used?

    Hi,

I have just purchased Superior Drummer 3, core library sounds great. thought I’d give some of the EZX Expansions a go as I was particularly interested in the Duality I and II.

These have the same issues you are talking about, around a two second hiss after the snare and toms fade. most presets but very noticeable on “Everyone’s Favourite” in Duality II. (for specifics). It sounds as though it is part of the sample. I also tried removing all the processing on each channel, still there. For comparison I also downloaded the Rock Solid EZX, which had no issues whatsoever.

    Hey John,

    Many thanks for your response

Subsequent to my post, I went online and listened to the presets again:

    Duality II EZX | Toontrack

If you listen to the end of the “Everyone’s Fav Preset” the hiss is very audible. However, I believe this is down to the way this expansion was recorded,  (none of the other expansions I have purchased have the same issue) . I can only imagine that a lot of Tape Saturation/Distortion/Compression etc was used to achieve that sound. I tried removing all effects on the channels but it sounds to me as though this hiss is inherent on the samples. When I am more familiar with the software I will use the sample envelope to remove the tails, and/or gate, so this shouldn’t be an issue.

However, I’d like to know your thoughts.

    thanks again

    Steve

I have the same issue. Did you manage to solve it?

    Hi,

I don’t think this is an issue that can be “solved” per say.

It’s an issue with the original recordings, however the genre of music these libraries are geared towards, I would believe it’s going to be pretty hard to notice this “hiss” within the tracks, especially with cymbal bleed as well
