So I had my friend Jeff send me a Logic Pro X project with some midi tracks of him playing his Roland td 17. He doesn’t have SD3 so he played on the Logic Pro x drum designer and everything seemed to work fine. For the most part everything triggers the right instrument in superior drummer once I imported the midi file into the software. However when he opens the hi hat on the second separate midi track it starts to play both the “open edge 2” and the “open edge 3.”
In grid editor the hi hat notes only show up on the “open edge 2” but there is this blinking dot that indicates that the “open edge 3” is also being engaged. So since I heard an issue I started messing around with muting and soloing until the hi hat was fixed. When I solo the specific hi hat articulation “open edge 2” along with all the other drum kit pieces it sounds fine, but when I clear the solo it starts sounding like an additional hat is being triggered even though the only notes that show up in the grid editor are on “open edge 2.”
Also… If I mute “open edge 3,” it doesn’t go away. Thanks!
Thanks Jord. I wasn’t using that setting in SD3 so I went into the “midi in/e drums” tab and set it to “logic drum kit designer” and unfortunately its still doing it! I have to figure this out and even then I solo’d up only the kit pieces that the midi performance needed and it sounds fine. Likewise if I play the midi file in the standalone logic drum kit designer channel in Logic it sounds fine! Lets keep this rolling till I figure this out!
The e-drum preset should be active when you import the MIDI to SD3, so that you get a dialog where you can select to apply the current e-drum preset. If that doesn’t help, could you attach a piece of the MIDI (before imported to SD3) here?
