Instruments can’t share CC nor MIDI notes. The added hi-hat can listen to a different CC, CC1 one for example. Can your e-kit/DAW send multiple CC:s at once (both 1 and 4)?

Hi, thanks for the info. I’m using a Roland TD3 so it looks like I won’t be able to achieve this as it only transmits CC4. Thanks anyhow.

Are you using a DAW? Most of them has advanced options, such as duplicating values from one CC to another.
In Logic, for example, you can write a script that does this…

Yes, I’m using Cubase Pro 8. Any advice on setting this up would be much appreciated.

I looked at it in Cubase, and I think you should use the “Transformer” (which is added as a MIDI Insert). The Transformer can do things to incoming MIDI, map note, change CC etc. You can ask a question about how duplicate CC4 to to a similar CC1 message in the official Cubase forum https://www.steinberg.net/forums/viewforum.php?f=226, since it’s a bit tricky…
