Hi-hat pedal triggering Tom One with Roland TD 50x and Hi-hat VH14D when closed “Tight” with Foot?
Just can’t figure it out either in SD3 or the TD-50x.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Ok so this does not happen when the td50x has not had midi out notes altered and the td50x preset is used in sd3. I know because that is what I started with and then modified.
So I see the learn function under edrums has been fixed in the latest version. You could try removing all note numbers on the toms and then using the learn function. Or just the tom that is triggering.
The way I do it is to make a record of all the generated midi notes and what triggered them(I record in Cubase and the note them down) I then manually put them in within sd3. Or again just do it for the offending notes.
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
Thanks for the reply. Turns out, the tom was being triggered by the Hi-Hat “Stand” slightly rubbing up against the rack (with the cables wrapped around it). Moved the rack arm an inch away and – problem solved! LOL!
Well that was a simpler solution than mine lol.
