Is there a list somewhere that explains what the different hi-hat articulations indicate? For example, I see things like “Sequence” and “Open 1”, “Open 2”, etc. and don’t know what the difference is between these.
‘Open’ followed by a number is how much of a gap is between the top and bottom hats. The higher the number, the more ‘open’ the gap is. The sound will be different and the higher the number, the louder the hit.
Mick is correct. You can audition the hi-hat sounds of each simply by clicking on each selection in the list.
