    Thanks Scott,
If I remove the Laptop authorisation and later want to activate it again (once I have learned how to use LogicPro X), I’ll have to go through the process of activating each package, that will take ages! There must be an easier way, can I not just authorise a computer to do all of my products?
I don’t really understand why you only wish me to use it on 2 machines, but are you saying that I can only change this 4 times? I may need to change back and forward a couple of times over the next couple of months. If this is the case, am I’m stuffed?

You should remove your old iMac authorization from your Toontrack
account and use that slot for your new iMac. You can still use the
    software on your old iMac.

You will have to remove the old iMac for all the packages that you want
to use on your new iMac. Then you can hopefully use the online
authorization in the sampler to authorize the expansions. It should
    be fairly quick.

    Thanks Olof,
What’s that 4 times thing then?

You can only reclaim a slot once. You have two slots and
you can use them twice so that is 2 x 2 = 4.

The general idea is that you should be able to use our products
on your desktop and on your laptop and upgrade your
computers once during the lifetime of the product.
If you need more than that you have to ask for it.

If I ask, you’ll definitely grant, free of charge?

I’m very concerned here, if I can’t guarantee that my investment in Toontrack products is not time locked, then I need to look at another software.

I need an assurance that, ‘the lifetime of the product’ is not reliant on 3rd party hardware manufacturers.

If I do not get that assurance then I will not be purchasing any more of your products.

    Thanks Scott,
I do understand that active authorisations are limited to 2.

In my case, I need to have both desktop machines running while I learn how to to use logic pro x (it could take a while), then I’ll transfer back to the laptop. So this will take up all 4 of my authorisations (although I only ever need 2 active). Your FAQ says I need to give a reason for needing a reset, will this be considered a bona fide reason?

I hope you don’t think I’m being awkward, it’s just that I have fallen foul of “smallprint” and semantics in the past and, while I’m sure Toontrack are a fine company, I would like this to be clear.

Can you also confirm there is no charge for resetting.

Many thanks for your help on this,

No charge for resetting. Half of my time spent as moderator on this forum is spent resetting authorizations for customers. It’s quite painless.

    Thanks very much Scott,

I did notice that when I download my content, do I need to download the file underneath the serial number PLUS the update file, or is the one underneath the serial number the up to date one?

thanks again for your splendid help,

Yes, the one underneath the serial number is a Full product installer but there will always be a smaller and newer EZdrummer update on the ‘Updates’ tab.
