Just bought a new computer Win 7 and tons of memory etc. Installed the “Lite” version which came with my DAW Presonus Studio One Pro. Purchased an upgrade but it is only updating the 32 bit version instead of the 64. I can open the 32 in Solo just fine, but the 64 is still “Lite”. Can’t seem to figure out how to get the upgrade to apply to the 64 bit? Any help would be appreciated, I’m in about 10 hours straight of not being able to get this up and running again.
Hi,
did you uninstall the Lite version before running the EZdrummer installer?
It would seem like you have done some manual moving or copying of the .dll file post install, which would muck things up.
The easiest way to make sure you’re using the correct version is to uninstall EZdrummer so no entries remain under ‘Add/Remove Programs’, then Search for any ‘ezdrummer.dll’s and delete them.
After that, you install the Full product Download (big red PC button in your account’s product page ) and then run the 1.3.1 update installer.

I followed your instructions and found that the problem I’m having is I only have the “Lite” version that was provided as a free program in my DAW. When I try to download the 1.3.1 update installer I’m told that an existing version of “Lite” has been detected and I must uninstall it first in order to apply the upgrade to 64 bit. I purchased an upgrade some time ago and everything worked just fine on my old computer. I’m not sure what to do at this point unless I can get the full version installed? I don’t want to have to purchase it again after I’ve alread paid for a legitimate upgrade.
As John asked above, did you uninstall the Lite version before running the full EZdrummer installer?

I guess I’m not explainig this well enough. I uninstalled everything. In my account available for downloads is Presonus “Lite” version and the “upgrade” I purchased for $99.00. I do not have a full version available for download. That is the problem. I downloaded the lite version then my upgrade thinking it should make it the full version. I then get an error when trying to install the update to uninstall the lite version and download the full version. What I cannot understand is since I purchased a valid upgrade why don’t they just do away with the Lite and upgrade downloads and put the full version there for me to download?
OK, I’ll try to clear this up a bit.
The Lite version is totally irrelevant at this point now that you purchased the Upgrade EZdrummer. It is useless. You ONLY need to install the Upgrade EZdrummer. It is the full version. You don’t need to install the Lite version first, then install the Upgrade EZdrummer.
If you keep installing the Lite version first, then running the Upgrade EZdrummer installer, the Upgrade installer will ask you to uninstall the Lite version. This will result in an endless loop…
So, please follow these steps.
First, uninstall the Lite version.
Second, install the Full Upgrade EZdrummer version only. This is the file named ‘TT119_EZdrummer_Lite_Upgrade_WIN.zip’.
Next, download the latest EZdrummer update (version 1.3.1). This is the file named ‘EZdrummer_WIN_131.zip’.
Then, install the 32-bit 1.3.1 update from the EZdrummer_WIN_131.zip file.
Next, install the 64-bit 1.3.1 update that is also in the EZdrummer_WIN_131.zip file.
Make sure you set the path in your 64-bit host to where the 64-bit version of EZdrummer is installed to. By default, it will be C:Program FilesVstPluginsToontrack64bit

It worked!!! Can’t thank you enough, just need more clear directions which you provided. One last question if I may, should I also install the updates for Solo & Cocktail?

It’s always wise to make sure you’re running the latest updates.

I’m having the same problem (no ‘Lite’ involved).
New 64-Bit machine, 64 bit win-7 and SonarX1-64.
Installed EZD from original disk, ran 32-bit update, then 64 update.
During installation changed path to be the same as all other VSTs on another drive.
Rescanned within Sonar. EzDrummer shows up in VST Plugin manager and on screen lower right says 1.3.1 (64 bit)
But NO sounds load. 0 MB. Where is the default path to the sounds and how do I correct this path?
Please uninstall and try installing from the Full installer download from your Toontrack account (the big red ‘PC’ under your EZdrummer product page).
Install the 32-bit update and then the 64-bit update. I leave the 64-bit version in the default install location and then set the path in the host to that location.
