Hello team,
I am running SD3 and recording with a TD17KVX edrum midi controller. It uses a real hi-hat pedal with open/close motion. I have all midi controller presets working correctly with my controller. After tracking live drummer on the edrums, I go into SD3 to correct certain hits or timings etc. While listening to the loop playback on SD3, sometimes I cannot delete recorded articulations. For example:
4 hi-hat hits in a row might trigger in “closed tip” but when I move the diamond shaped hits to maybe “open edge 2”, it will still show the hi-hat pedal physically closing and playing a “closed tip” sound. If I delete all hi-hats / trigger hits, followed by manually clicking in 4 “open edge trigger 2” hits with my mouse, the “closed tip” sound continues to play and SD3 shows the hi-hat pedal being closed. Is there a way to delete recorded hi-hat pedal motion perhaps?
Thanks
That’s not the way to do it. You are using a hi hat controller which generates foot cc messages. You need to edit these and not the note articulations. They are not relevant when using a controller that generates cc values. I use my DAW for midi so I haven’t looked at where this is in the sd3 editor.
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors

Thanked by: Scott Eshleman and Ivan MacielI did not know there was CC editing. I always thought though I had to edit the note articulations. For anyone that doesnt know where this is here:
in the grid editor > On the left side panel where you see all the hits (kick snare, rack tom 1 , etc) > look at the bottom of the list where it probably reads “velocity” > open that drop down and select “Hi-Hat – Pedal CC Control” .
Here you can edit the curve or remove it entirely
Thanks!
