Hello everybody.
Im new here, hope its the right place to post this.
I just got my self a new pc.. and bought Cubase 6artist, with an CI2+.
But sometimes when i use Ezdrummer with it, it get that “crackling noise”- But its only on my guitar track, everthing else seems to run smooth. Im thinking that my pc maybe isnt fast enough- though it doesnt really seem to be working much (uses 35-50% of CPU)
Here some stats:
Windows home premium 64-bit
Amd Athlon II x2 – 215 dual-core processor
650Gb hard disc
6Gb DDr3 memory
Hope someone can help me. Im really new at this, and dont really know anything about pc´s, cubase or Ez Drummer
Thanks. Christoffer
Are you using 64-bit Cubase and 64-bit EZdrummer?

hello..
Cubase 64 check.
And im not really sure how about the ezdrummer. my Toontrack solo is 64, and works fine. So i quess my ezdrummer is 64 to.
i have also installed the 64 bit updates.
It comes when i have played with the drums in cubase for awhile.
When my guitar stars to get that crackling sound, like it cant keep up. – but its only on the input track, everthing else seems to work as a charm..

The EZdrummer version number in the EZdrummer GUI should read 64-bit if you’re using the 64-bit version. ‘1.3.0 (64-bit)’ for example.
So, after you’ve tracked your guitars the cracking stops? What buffer size are you tracking at? If you raise the buffer, does the cracking stop? What type of ASIO driver/sound card are you using?

Hello.. Sorry for my late reply..
I tried to max the sample rate at 48 KHz, and Asio buffer size to 128 sample.
It seem to help, alot.. It doenst happen as often any more. But it still happens sometimes.
if i got like a drum track, and 3 other tracks going, it happens sometimes – Nothing major, but still not really anoying.
So if i add more, i can only guess its going to be worse.
The cracking is there where i record, or just play thru it. It doesnt seem to be recorded tho.
I use the Steinberg/yamaha CI2+
What can i do to get rid of it completely.?
Christoffer
Try raising the buffer to 512 for playback to see if that helps. I usually only have a low buffer when tracking MIDI. Otherwise I keep my system at 1024 buffer.

Hello.. Sorry for the long respons. i have toyed around with it abit.. And 512 seems to be the best.. Thanks so much for your help..
If i want less latency/better preformancen, would i just need to upgrade my pc, with some more rams?
THanks again for the super support.
