I have an Alesis Surge Mesh E-Drum Kit (Which has the same drum module as the Alesis Nitro) and the preset that is offered for the Alesis Surge under “Alesis” in the E-Drums section doesn’t map everything right.
But… if you select Medeli – DD512 everything is mapped correctly (The Medeli DD512 Drum Module from what I’ve read and seen is the same Module as the Alesis “Surge” and “Nitro” Modules, it just looks a little different)
Give it a try, it worked great for me, and with the new Hi-Hat adjustments in EZD3 you can get the Hi-Hat sounds to trigger better now – Open, Half Open, Closed, Foot, and Splash all work much better with the hat adjustments in EZD3.
Also you can remap the rims of the drums easily (if you have dual zone pads) to whatever sound you like using the map function inside EZD3, such a wonderful upgrade!
Thanks Toontrack!

Good info! Going to try it this evening. Thank you.
I have been trying for weeks to fix my crash choking and sticking in choke mode issue with my Simmons kit and choosing your suggested model fixed my issue. Wild.
Glad to help.
Yes under Alesis category it would be cool if they fixed the “Surge” Preset to match the “Medeli – DD512” So it just works when you select the “Surge” preset, maybe in an update? At least we have a work around for now.
Hi,
is there still a problem with the Alesis presets after the 3.0.6 update?
