When starting the SD3 program everything functions properly with instruments audible and play back of grooves functioning. Once I plug in a set of headphones there is no longer any sound from the drums and playback of any grooves whether in the browse box or track, is locked up. This works in the other direction also, starting with phones plugged in, the unplugging phones. Same result.
Videos, Youtube, MP3 and previous SD2 and Player all are working fine with no similar glitches.
After initial download SD3 seemed to work this way properly
SD3 is loaded on a MAC PRO
Any idea where I can begin too look for the fix?
I have an external audio interface (Apogee Duet 2). When I plug in head phones into my MacBook, it automatically switches source for playing audio to the internal audio interface. Can something like this cause your problem?

Hi Henrik, With no external sources at all plugged into my Mac pro, I can start the SD3 program, select a kit and then select a groove and it will play. I can do this endlessly with no problem. I can choose different kits and different grooves listening to the sound through the Mac speakers. Once I plug anything, whether it be a headphone jack or mini plug to a set of speakers, the output of any drums are not audible. You can tap instruments with the mouse and visual see the hit but no sound. Along with this any grooves from any location will not playback. When clicking the selected groove start icon, the moving bar dot moves 1/32″ and stops.
No other programs or Apps are running. My SD2 does not do this. (???) joe
Is this in stand alone mode of Superior Drummer 3? What Audio Device is selected in Settings / Audio/MIDI Setup? If you listen to something else, Spotify for example, can you listen and plugin headphones without any problems?
I am guessing that something happens with the audio device selection when you plug in headphones…
