… making a version of EZKeys that doesn’t need the expansion pack instruments, and instead is more concentrated on the song-writing technology?
Take the core technology of the chord selector and being able to apply midi patterns to your own chord structure, and put that into a better midi editor and song builder/creator. It would output the midi to whatever software synth or sound module the user wanted to use, rather than the user having to buy a Toontrack instrument, just to get the editor/songwriting technology.
Instead of 155€ for an instrument that they might not want, you could charge 60€ for just the songwriting and midi editing tools. Of course, you could make it so that you could load your instruments too. But just that the instruments were optional.
Just a thought.

I think that is a great idea. I had purchased Captain Chords which can be very helpful for quickly organizing chord progressions, but I was really interested in the Midi features of EZ Keys, However, the UI of EZK made me feel I may have spent my money better…
