point 1:
if I choose a pattern and apply a major 7th chord, say C maj7 (C,E,G,B) EZ Keys in some arpeggio patterns will play the root ABOVE a major 7th, i.e. C on the very top. This is harmonically wrong, because now the interval is inverted and the notes C and B are no longer forming a major 7th, but a minor 2nd, which expecially when spread apart, sounds like a**. A root should NEVER be above an extension, this is a basic harmonic rule used for the last 250 years or so….
point 2:
in faster arpeggios, for example the pattern ‘variation 03, EZ Keys 2, Arpeggio 1 65 bpm’ , which is included in the core library, when I apply tempo 2x to make the notes smaller, it sounds like a** because the notes will bleed into each other, even though I recorded the chords without pedal.
All in all, this is a solid plugin, but not perfect yet, it has some limitations. BTW I play keyboards pretty well, not a noob keyboardist. My idea is to use EZ Keys as a helper to make me work a bit faster….even though I play keys well, the parts would still require some practice.
This plugin has improved, but there’s still work to be done. Thank you Toontrack.
