Guitar Center EZ Drumer free pack

I went to GC and saw in their catalog a deal for EZrummer and one free sound pack. They gave me a receipt with a serial number. I went to Toontrack and used the number to register and download EZdrummer. Does anyone know how I get the free sound pack. Called GC they said call Toontrack.

Has anybody take up this offer and found out how to receive the free pack.

GC has a special deal and tells you to ask us for the product/serial? It doesn’t sound right to me but OTOH I’m not in sales/marketing.
I will forward this to someone who probably knows better.

Hi Rick,

I have no knowledge of this. If Guitar Center has a ‘buy one – get one free’ offer, they should provide you with the free products themselves. Toontrack is very rarely or never directly involved in offers of this kind. I suggest you contact Guitar Center again, I’m afraid there is not much we can do from our end.

I had a similar experience – the GC employee told me that Toontrack would provide the free EZX. EZDrummer was on sale for $99.99 and it said that it came with a free expansion. Any information on this would be appreciated.

That link to GC’s Web site should work fine, since it has you choose the EZX that you want. They should give you the serial number for both EZD and the expansion in your receipt or an email or somehting after your purchase.

At my local GC store, I got a serial number for EZDrummer on my receipt, but I didn’t get a serial number for the EZX, so I called today and they said I should stop by and they will help me get it straightened out. My suspicion is that they have a separate SKU for the bundle, that the regular sales employees have not been told about, so they’ll have to do some crazy retail-fu to make it work. I’ll let you guys know what I find out when I go to the store later today.

They ended up returning the software (since I hadn’t installed it – just registered for this forum) and are sending me a new bundle from GuitarCenter.com. Apparently this is an Online Only promotion. Not sure what’s going to happen to my serial number for EZDrummer; theoretically it should become disabled and I’ll use the new one that will come with the online order.

So, don’t try to buy this at a Guitar Center store, because they won’t know what to do with it. (Though EZDrummer is still on sale there for $99.99.) If you want the free expansion, you need to order it through the GC web site.

Hem, I’m having a problem with the serial number on my receipt.

When I try to add it, it says that i need some other programs, I list of them.

Was thinking about trying what you did, going back. But I already downloaded it and everything…

what product are you trying to register? If you are trying to register an EZX or SDX, please note that you need to have EZdrummer or Superior Drummer registered first, as one of these are required to use any EZX or SDX.

Gentlemen,
Here the deal with GC and the Ezdrummer free EZX promo. If you buy it online GC should send you two products/boxes (Ezdrummer and the free EZX) If you buy it in the store the employee should give you a VSSD box and ring you up for both Ezdrummer and the free EZX. So you should have 2 items on the receipt. If they have not done this ask to talk to a manager.

Just got off the phone with the GC rep I bought this bundle from in store. He too had no idea what is going on and said ToonTrack was supposed to provide a download option. This is aggrevating I must say. What is the real deal here? Did we all get screwed on this deal if we bought in store?

To Download EZdrummer products is one thing, getting serials for your products a completely different matter.
Please read Bill’s post above, you should get 2 serials on your receipt.
If you have serials, they can be registered and since they are EZdrummer products, they can be downloaded in full, should you not get the VSSD boxes with all Toontrack products on DVD:s from GC.
