I like to audition groove patterns using the groove window. The patterns match my DAW tempo ok, but when my DAW loops back to the first beat the groove window always jumps back to the middle of the pattern, never jumps to the beginning of the pattern. If I mouse click on the groove progress bar then it will jump back in time to the beginning of the pattern and it plays in the correct tempo but it’s no longer in synch with the DAW beats. It wont synch to the DAW until I stop and start the DAW playback again. I never had this issue with SD2.

Hi,
if you loop e.g. the first 8 bars in your DAW and preview 8 bar patterns in the Grooves Browser, they should sync in loop. If you move the loop area in your DAW to another place on the Timeline or loop 8 bars but preview e.g. 4 bars, I guess it doesn’t line up as easy, since the plugin not only receives play and stop but the position on the timeline as well. It could be depending on your DAW as well.
Which DAW are you using and which version number is displayed in the plugin interface?

Thanked by: Gary StephensUsing Reaper 5.35 and the plugin version is 3.1.2
It seems if I am previewing an 8 bar pattern then my DAW timeline has to be looping on a bar number that is a multiple of 8?

Well,
I tried different looping lengths at different places on the timeline and while I think I don’t get the exact same behaviour in Logic and Reaper, I think you are more likely to get a Grooves Browser looping that fits your Song if you loop an 8 Bar selection on the Timeline while previewing 8 Bar patterns and that Timeline selection is at 8 Bar sections from 1. I.e. 1 – 9, 9 – 17, 17 – 25, etc. rather than 6 – 14, 14 – 22, etc.
To me, this doesn’t seem strange, since I think the plugin can’t both be knowing exactly where your position is on the Timeline and at the same time predict how you want to preview a pattern not on the timeline, in sync to that timeline.
On the other hand, I am not a programmer, so maybe it is a matter of putting in a request for this over at the ‘Requests & Feedback’ section.
