- I see how to rename a modified groove in the User MIDI library, but when I drag it to the Song Track, it shows only the Power Hand and the Generic Song Part (intro, verse, chorus, etc.) If I hover over it on the Song Track, it shows the name of the original groove that I used as my template before modifying, not the name of the modified groove as reflected in the User MIDI library. So when I look at the song in the Song Tracker, I have no information to tell me which modified grooves I used where. I am aware of ‘Find > Select Containing Folder in Grooves’; but this isn’t the most convenient.
- On a related note, even when using stock (unmodified) grooves, the information in the Song Track leaves something to be desired. Again one sees only the Power Hand and Song Part. Neither of these is actually very useful. In particular, more often than not, I end up using grooves as a different part than their official Song Part, so without being able to change the Song Part that information actually becomes misleading. With respect to understanding what groove has been used where, one can see the Name by hovering, but there may be several grooves with the same name in the library, e.g. “Chorus 2.” In my opinion, it would be much better to see both Family and Name, and to see both all the time (without hovering) so that one could quickly know exactly which groove is being used.
- So in summary, here are my suggestions in order of utility:
- Show both Family and Name in Song Track without hovering over the groove
- If that is not possible, show both Family and Name when hovering over the groove
- If a modified groove has been saved in the User MIDI Library, show Family and Name of the modified groove, not that of its “parent” that was used as a template
- Allow user to change Song Part when saving a modified groove to the User MIDI Library
- Allow user to hide Song Part in the Song Track, so that incorrect Song Parts (those not matching the use in the current song) can be suppressed.
Thanks for listening. I love the product overall and appreciate anything you can do to make this piece a bit more user friendly.
