Groove Edits – Grid Editor Changes Swing, Velocity, etc don't save?

I have searched via google and this forum but I just can’t seem to find an answer to my problem — when I change the swing, randomize, velocity etc., within the grid editor of each drum it doesn’t save, what am I missing?  For example, I have my blocks set up in the bottom.  I click on what’s labeled as my verse and open it up in the grid editor —  I could be in the kick, I add swing and randomize to it — when I click on my snare, to do the same thing — when I go back to my kick, all the customizations I put in are gone.  This seems like it should be easy so I am not sure what I am missing.  I want to make customizations to my kick, snare, hi hats, etc., and I want those customizations to save within my block permanently, so that they are applied to my song.

The settings are applied destructively when you select the next kit piece. Everything that you have applied are in the grid, but the sliders are reset to to their default positions.
