Just done a quick check. The Thomann site has EZ Drummer2 download at £127, ToonTrack has it at €155 which appear to convert to £132. (It’s been €155 for as long as I have been looking – about 2 years) Out of interest how much did you pay?

    Hello Tim,

I paid $340 CAD on the Toontrack site

It goes for $240 CAD on Thomann (The CAD comes up on my browser automatically)

It really is an outrageous difference.

I am a newbie, this is my first software.

    Boy am I learning!

They should mention this on their site (to check around) otherwise their site is exactly like a trap.

    Thanks!

    Gary

    PS

Toontrack charges in USD as you know

I pay 30% more converting USD to CAD.

Thomann seems to adjust for that.

    Thanks

I cannot get Canadian prices on the Toontrack Site, only Euros. It shows 155 euros. Interestingly if I log into Thomann and ask for prices in Canadian dollars I get 242 then  in brackets 162 Euros (so actually MORE than you’d pay in Europe)

What product did you purchase from the Toontrack Webshop? Was it a recent purchase during a holiday sale?

The Toontrack Website gives me (here in Canada) USD prices only

The Thomann site gives me CAD and Euros (sensing my location?)

It was your regular price on a bundle where you get one EZX free.

    Thanks

The only EZD2 Bundle that you’ve purchased was back on September 3. Is this the one you are referring to?

    Hi Scott,

Yes that’s the one. Toontrack charged me $259 USD ($340.94 CAD for me)

Thomann’s regular price is $240 CAD.

A forum member noted this is not a sale price and has been in effect for at least 2 years.

I’m not asking for an undercut. $100 as a lot of money to overpay in my fiscal world.

If it was just a tiny bit more from Toontrack I wouldn’t be complaining.

Please have some mercy on a newbie.

I’m just finding out now your products are sold elsewhere.

It’s software, I didn’t even think that you had other people selling for you. It’s not a physical product.

I’m new to the (digital) recording world.

I’m still trying to speak to support with that link you sent me.

    Thanks!

Is this the same product from Thomann?

    https://www.thomannmusic.com/intl/ca/toontrack_ez_drummer_2_ezx_bundle.htm?sid=f21b68b6a671e0c165f31fdc4cbcf57a&ref=intl&shp=eyJjb3VudHJ5IjoiY2EiLCJjdXJyZW5jeSI6MzgsImxhbmd1YWdlIjoyfQ%3D%3D&reload=1

I’m in the US and it shows a temporary holiday sale price on the Thomann websiteof $188 for me. The Toontrack holiday sale price is $199. I’m not sure how the conversion works for Canada pricing.

That is $10 US difference with the holiday sale price in effect.

I don’t think that either the Toontrack Webshop nor Thomann were running a sale in early September on the bundle you purchased. I don’t work in sales for Toontrack but I don’t think they will honor a current holiday sales price on a product you purchased 3 1/2 months ago. I’m sorry you feel price gouged on your purchase but since you purchased long before the sale began, I’m afraid they won’t we able to refund you.

I did not buy from Toontrack on a holiday price.

It was the deal for $259 USD ($359 CAD) on a EZD bundle + 2 expansions of your choice

This same item is regularly priced (not sale), and has been for 2 years at, Thomann for $242 CAD

So I actually paid over $100 more. These are not sale prices we are talking here.

    Thanks!

When I click on the Thomann link it shows this:

“Through 31.12.2021 this product is extremely affordable. This is a temporary offer – so make your move quickly!”

It doesn’t sound like the regular price. Have you confirmed by contacting Thomann that this had been their EZD2 Bundle peice for 2 years? Where did you get that info?

Sorry I have nothing on that page (accessing from Canada) that says it’s a sale.

A forum member said this has been the regular price for 2 years.

But even aside from this we both know the Toontrack Webstore

is never the best price even during the regular season.

It would be good to reveal on your site that other sellers will have a better price.

Otherwise the web store is just a trap for newbies.

I also found out the national music store in Canada (L&M, kind of like Guitar Center)

also has all the Toontrack stuff cheaper regularly.

I also overpaid on all my EZX’s you see in my account, as well from the Toontrack webstore

compared to any store I can find on the net, sale or no sale.

(except my Americana one which I paid $27 CAD ($18 USD!)  2 days ago on a  Thomann sale.

I am just finding all this out now (newbie), the day I bought Americana from Thomann

and feeling very stupid that I ever bought from your webstore.

    Thanks

    PS

Don’t forget I add 30% to my cost converting CAD to USD

So my ED2 bundle for $259 USD cost me $340.94

Thomann is giving me CAD and Euros right on the site so they

seem to be adjusting in the customer’s favour (ouside the US) regarding USD exchanges.

This is what it shows on my phone in that link:

From what user TimStannard said above:

“Just done a quick check. The Thomann site has EZ Drummer2 download at £127, ToonTrack has it at €155 which appear to convert to £132. (It’s been €155 for as long as I have been looking – about 2 years) Out of interest how much did you pay?

He is talking about the regular EZD2 product and not bundle as you are talking about. And from his quote, they only differ 5£ from what I read.

Prices on the Toontrack webshop and other retailers differ by $10US or so on average.
