GNX4 pro tracks-MIDI issue

Ill start here and maybe someone can help me with whats going on…

set up-
compaq Evo XP Pro
intel 4 – 2 GHz
512 RAM

Digitech Gnx4 and pro tracks DAW
EZ drummer DFH and Electronic

when I drag and drop EZ into pro tracks…it plays the pattern for EZ but it plays the sound library from the digitech , so Im hearing the sounds of the digitech drum machine and not EZ drummer….Im not sure if Im not on the right channel or have something routed wrong.

Im not sure if this is the issue with Pro tracks , though ive read other threads that Pro tracks doesnt support VST plug ins , only Dxi.

Im on the verge of updating my DAW , probably to Sonar , though I hoped to be able to keep using pro tracks for the features of the GNX4 , such as hands free recording and its On Board Recorder. though I believe its possible with other DAWs
