I am really struggling to figure out how to get SD3 to make any sound in Reaper. First crack at using any DAW. I inserted the SD3 VST instrument which opened SD3 in a pop out separate window. I have Reaper set to use the correct ASIO/Volt 4 driver. I see that it added a bunch of tracks with the various parts of the drums/mics etc. But I don’t understand how to get it to where I can play and record my playing in Reaper. Please help. I started to watch a 3+ hr video tutorial on reaper but it does not really get much into how to make SD3 work in it. Can’t seem to find a good tutorial that that covers the basics of how to get SD3 to work in Reaper.
I just have the usb c output connected to the PC and my headset connected to the VOLT AI. Works fine with SD3 stand alone. Also, I get sound and activity in Reaper when clicking on the drums in the SD3 popout but not when hitting the actual pads. What am I missing? I have tried all the input options etc. It’s not making any sound when hitting the pads.
See attached. I feel like all the inputs are enabled and it should just play my drums when hit but I’m missing something and can’t figure this out.
OK, I just finally figured it out. I had to go into Reaper prefs under midi devices and right click on the line for eDrumin then select ‘include input in all midi inputs’. Now I can record myself playing. and I guess the same setting will apply for the Audio Interface once I plug in my keyboard etc. finally, getting somewhere!
