GarageBand can use third-party software that adheres to the Core Audio AU standard. However, there are limitations. Audio Unit instruments which can respond on multiple MIDI channels or ports can be triggered only on the first channel of the first port. This means that multi-timbral instruments which contain multiple channels and respond to many MIDI channels, such as Kontakt for example are not ideally suited for use in GarageBand. 3.5 GHz Mac Pro, 36 GB RAM, OS 10.12.6, RME Multiface II + HPSP PCIe, Cubase10.0.2, EZDrummer, Superior Drummer 3, All EZXs, Battery 3, Komplete 11, BWW, VoP, Venus, Mars, Most Spitfire libraries, Omnisphere, Trilian, Stylus RMX, Symphobia 1 & 2 etc.

Note that EZdrummer is not multitimbral so while you are correct I think your disclaimer will likely confuse the OP.

I’ll just paste the topic that best fit the answer:

… feel free to ask furher questions (after checking the GarageBand operation manual)
