I cannot use tambourine (future hit) in my song, because whenever I choose more than 1/4, the hits will shuffle or swing. My song is 4/4, 132 bpm, no swing in grid editor. Here is an example with 8th Acc 1 2 3 4 ). See the attachment.
The tambourine hits (bottom) are not regular in the grid. Why is this happening?

You could search your Instruments List for a non-Futurehit Tambourine if you have one. Or a workaround is to use certain velocities.

Yes, I could do that or I could use Skaka. However, I would like to understand why SD3 is doing it wrong.
I seem to have had a similar kind of problem already three years ago. I did not receive any help at that time. Is Toontrack aware of this problem? https://www.toontrack.com/forums/topic/after-3-2-0-update-all-my-tambourines-are-suddenly-late-a-lot/
How are you adding your future hit instruments to the grid? I just added a tambourine in three different ways (manual, groove parts and edit play styles) and are not seeing the problem you are having. Everything lines up where they should using an 8acc 1 2 3 4 rhythm.
Perhaps outline your steps.

I choose the block, go to play styles, select the future hit (tambourine) and then rotate the knob to 8th Acc 1 2 3 4
This is an imported drum midi, but I have edited it extensively and split it to about 8 bar blocks which I edit one at a time.

The MIDI that you are using should have no bearing. I used a similar methodology and I am unable to re-create your issue. However, from the screenshots, I did notice that your future hits seem a little different than mine. I’m wondering, did you create a future hit instrument or assign one to an existing kit piece?

Thanked by: ShootieThanks for your help! I have tried both, create the hits to an existing future hit in the superior set in my studio one template , and create a new future hit tambourine. In both cases there is no alignment / or there is a shuffle/swing in tambourine when faster than 4th. In both cases I am using the future hit square top left in style edit and the knob to add hits.
Perhaps you might want to post a video of your steps to recreate your issue. Like I said, I am unable to recreate this.

Hi Kari,
you are aware that Future Hit Instruments do not work or respond the way regular Instruments do? I.e. you cannot program them as you would a non-Future Hit Instrument.
From the Manual:
Future Hit Instrument applies to an instrument that Toontrack has sampled in a special way because they produce sound before their accent. An example of this would be a shaker, maraca, or a shaken tambourine. This type of instrument is also known as an “indirectly struck idiophone” in musical terms. They have been delineated as such because MIDI programming for these instruments is different (i.e. it is performed in Edit Play Style or in the Grid Editor).

John

Thanked by: Scott Eshlemanthe future hit options have always defied normal procedures. you just need to pick ones that work. You can adjust the start points but its not like a normal ” trigger and sample” situation where you can see that reflected in the sequencer type thing.
I often end up recording them and dealing with them as an audio file. Editing audio still has its advantages
