Hello!
I have to apologize in advance for this ultra-basic question, but I don’t find an answer in the existing forum threads (because my question is too odd :o) here we go:
I bought ez drummer with toontrack solo as an instrument for composing drumfiles for my guitar-composing-projects which I do in Ableton Live Lite. I hoped to get a wave-file out of ez drummer which I can use as a stand-alone track in other programs but obviously this is not the way it works. How is it possible to compose an entire track with toontrack solo? I only see the drum set where you can hit the different drums, but how do I make an entire track which I can use, edit, export and so on?
Thank you very much for (basic) help!
Greetings from Austria
Mike
I’m not familiar with the limitations of Abelton Live Lite. Can your version load 3rd party VST instruments? I checked the Abelton product page and it seems like Live 8 can load 4 ‘External VST/AU instrument instances per project’ which would seem to indicate that Live 8 can load EZdrummer. Check the Live manual for details on how to load VST instruments.
If you have an older version of Live that doesn’t offer that functionality, you may need to upgrade to the full version of Live.

To add to Scott’s post, I just loaded EZdrummer as VST in Ableton Live Lite (version 6, though) and also Rendered a sequence to WAV Audio, so what you are trying to do is possible from inside Live Lite.
You will be very limited to further plugin instantiating, etc.
