Hello,
Sometimes I’m working in the grid editor and want to listen to a bit of the drums alone, so I use the playhead and play button in the SD3 window so I don’t have to go back to the host (Logic), solo the drum track, and use the play controls there. This work fine UNLESS there are tempo changes in the host. “Follow Host” is good at taking tempo changes from the host, but it seems to do so by looking at the tempo at the host playhead position. Thus, when I use the transport controls of SD3, the playback gets all screwy since it just uses the static tempo of the host playhead position.
I can remedy this by unselecting “Follow Host” and putting all the tempo changes in SD3. But that’s a minor hassle (particularly when I’m experimenting with tempo – I have to double every change) and I end up constantly selecting/deselecting “Follow Host” when I want to play everything versus just a bit in SD3.
Ideally I could just keep “Follow Host” on and SD3 would grab the tempo from the host based on the SD3 playhead position. This would cover all situations in my workflow, but of course it may well break something else – I don’t know, so I’m throwing it out there for consideration!
Thanks
