I am running Pro Tools natively on Mac Studio M1 with OS Ventura and I noticed that the Follow Host feature is not syncing correctly in Superior Drummer version 3.3.6. Every time I try to follow the host, it starts a few beats back. So for example if I start playback in my host on measure 2, Superior will start on measure 1 beat 1.5. This is really annoying and seems to be affecting more than just the Superior drummer, but EZ Bass as well. See the attached video.
Hi,
I am trying to reproduce here on my Mac Studio M1 with Ventura 13.3.1 and Pro Tools 2023.3 but I can’t, it works as expected here.
Would it be possible for you to ZIP the Session without audio and attach to a post here?
BR,
John

Thanks. I think the problem may be when you use tempo mapping and tempo changes. I am able to get it to work right when I keep the tempo the same. But as you can see from this session it doesn’t work as expected.
Hi,
you have the 1st Bar in Pro Tools set to 5/16 Time Signature, followed by 4/4 at the 2nd Bar and throughout. Time Signature is not transmitted to plug-ins as Tempo is, so there’s no way for the EZbass and SD3 plug-ins to know about that, which in turn offsets everything.
Once the EZbass and SD3 Song Tracks have the first bar set to 5/16 and a Time Sig change to 4/4 from Bar 2, there’s no offset and the two plug-ins sync perfectly to the Pro Tools Timeline.

John

Hi John,
Thanks for taking the time to look into this issue. Good to know it’s not a glitch on Toontrack’s end. I think what happened was I took a song and imported it to Melodyne to get the tempo map and it must have done something weird with the time signature when I imported the tempo map back into Pro Tools. I never would have caught that, so thanks. But also good to know that plugins can’t read time signatures (for future reference ;-)) Btw, I am very much looking forward to Ezey Keys 2. I have already pre-ordered and am waiting patiently for the release. I have been writing songs on the guitar my whole life and trying to produce to full productions based on my strumming. This looks like a great update to the songwriting process. Cheers, and thanks again.
