You might be experiencing the S3 substitution. See the link below to the section of the S3 manual to see if this is what you are talking about.

I’m aware of that function, my issue is that floor tom 1 does not appear at all in the drum tab gui –  not even as a wire frame. Yet when i trigger floor tom 1 via my controller or via loops floor tom 1 makes a sound. confirmed this by looking through the midi roll in the drum tab section, floor tom 1 is being triggered but there’s no picture of it at all in the drum tab page…

I’ve also noticed the 20″ istanbul agop turk ride exhibits the same behavior, i’ll select that ride and the pic will disappear from the drums tab page, in fact several of the floor tom 1 kit pieces don’t appear at all when i select them –  yamaha beech, premier genista, ayotte classic.

Maybe I should re install some part of sd3/core library?

Can’t say I’ve ever come across this before. Yes, I would reinstall and see it that fixes. Start with running the latest library update first before reinstalling the entire library.

Heard, will do so at some point in the not too distant future. Otherwise it’s not the biggest issue.

Ok so I re downloaded the SD3 core libraries and this issue is appearing again and it looks like the .png files are distorted which would explain why they don’t appear in the drum tab gui. Can ya’ll maybe email me a zip file with the all the .png graphics as I don’t want to go through the download process again?

The best way to solve this would be for you reinstall the library update, which contains all the necessary graphics. The update is 2.2 GB, and if that’s not to big for you to download:

    • Open Product Manager
    • Go to Superior Drummer 3 Library Part 1 – Basic Sound Library
    • Download it by pressing the menu beside the download area
    • Screenshot-2019-03-21-at-09.19.57
    • When downloaded, you can install it from the same menu

So I did as you had instructed, but alas the problem appears again. It seems to have gotten somewhat worse as now there are several kick drum png files corrupted. The kick pedal just floats in the middle of the drum GUI, lol. The sounds come out fine just wish there was a better fix for this. Any possibility I could just have Toontrack support email me a compressed zip file or the like with all the .png files necessary for the core library? Thanks again for all the help and support thus far!
