I feel like I’m missing something simple. I’m working on a song where the drums have center hits and flams. I can get the snare to sound how I want on center hits but when it comes to flams I hear the snare wires too much and an overload of mid frequency…makes it sound really thin and sand papery. Anyone else have this issue?
Is it a specific snare that you notice this happening?

This often has more to do with the drummer and where he chooses to do his flams. I have never liked to use the foam articulation because they rarely fit and are rather limiting, in my experiences. I would rather program them in the grid editor, which allows me to customize it to fit the song.
