muebuhIt just took me a lot of time to figure out why the VST UI of EZDrummer and EZKeys is super laggy when loaded as VSTs in Reaper. So here’s the solution that worked for me, maybe it helps others to save some time:
On my laptop, the Toontrack VST UIs become super small in Reaper (I set the scale for all Windows apps to 175% in the Windows settings, but that doesn’t apply to the VSTs in Reaper). This issue can be fixed by opening the properties of the reaper.exe file, go to “Change HI DPI settings” and change the settings to “system”, or “system enhanced” (I found this description here: https://reaperblog.net/2019/12/workaround-tiny-vsti-r6/).
Now here’s the thing: Both “system” and “system enhanced” will fix the tiny UI issue, but with “system enhanced”, I had massive issues with UI lags. Sometimes I had to close and reopen the VST UI to make changes visible. After I changed the setting to “system”, everything worked fine.
