The easiest way is to drag the MIDI to Tap2Find. It will find the best matching groove, which should be the same. And you can pick any of the top matching resulting grooves and check their folders, or use it with the Song Creator, since they will have a similar feel and rhythm as the one you dragged from the DAW.

If you want to see the folder for any groove file that’s in the result list for Tap2Find, right click the groove and select “Show in Browser” (as in Scott’s post below, which also works on files in the Browser and in the Search tab).

If you have MIDI in the Song Track, you can right-click and select Show in Browser.

Thank you for quick reply, I appreciate it much, but this unfortunately doesn’t solve an issue when EZD track is within DAW – not within Song Creator.
Please, see into the screenshot I’ve attached. My Song Creator is empty and all my MIDI is within DAW. The reason is – it’s much easier to me to have drums next to guitar tracks rather than aside within EZD Song Creator – to me it makes more clear workflow when do manual adjustments to EZD track.

The issue is – maybe with my DAW only (Presonus Studio One 3) – that I cannot drag MIDI file from DAW into Tap2Find or Song Creator. Or saying it other way, I can, but it does nothing. MIDI file I’m trying to drag from DAW to Tap2Find or Song Creator is getting on the way, but never appear in those destinations : )

If it could work this way, usung EZD would be easier than having a tea : )

    Thanks guys!

Most DAW:s don’t (unfortunately) support drag and drop, so that you can drag MIDI from a track into plugins, such as EZdrummer 2. I thought Studio One supported this?

Anyway, you can record enable EZdrummer 2 and press play in the DAW (while having Follow Host enabled in EZd2). This will record the MIDI onto the song track of EZdrummer 2, and you can then use it in Tap2Find.

Don’t forget to disable Follow Host, or delete the MIDI on EZdrummer 2’s song track – or else you’ll end up with double triggered MIDI notes 🙂

Thanks Henrik! This one is life saver : ) Works perfectly!
Speaking of PSO – maybe 4.0 does support it, but I’m running 3.x still and this one is not.
Anyway, you’ve made my day with this “recording tip”, thank you again : )
