I’m keen to get the ‘In to the Dark’ expansion, but I was also considering the ‘Fields of Rock’ SDX expansion.
Are they similar or completely different beasts?
Any guidance is appreciated,
Thank

One is a sdx and the other a ez expansion. The ez says it does have sounds from the sdx version but it will be a lot more limited but maybe more ready to go presets. If it was me I would go for fields of rock to get all the sounds especially since you have SD3 as sdx expansions are designed for SD3
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors

Thanked by: Blix SixInto the Dark EZX is a (much) smaller version of the Fields of Rock SDX. At only 5GB, compared to the 180 GB of the SDX, you can expect that you will have a lot less control over the drums, as well as only have three of the seven kits. It also looks like the percussion pieces may not be in the EZX. However, if all you’re looking for is something that you can simply drop into a song, The EZX might be your option. Not saying that you cannot do the same with the SDX, as the presets are proving to be mix ready. However, if you are looking for more control either over the drums or the presets and want the percussion, the SDX is definitely a great choice. Many of us have already expressed how great this SDX is. I highly doubt you will regret it.
