So when I am working out drum parts, I will loop the segment in my DAW and record the midi in SD3; I always record MIDI directly in SD3. However when the section loops, SD3 will play back the previous looped segment as previously recorded and add any new midi information on top of it. I think the feature I am looking for is called “record replace”.
Maybe something to think about…like a right click on the record button can give different options when recording into SD3. This is how Reaper does it when recording MIDI directly into the DAW.
