Fast Rolls / Ghostnotes not registering when recording

I have a cheap Monoprice “Stage Right” mesh kit.

I do hear fast rolls (like a Herta type of fill) and ghostnotes registering fine when listening through EZDrummer 3 and Garageband, but when I record in either (yes – including EZDrummer’s recorder), not all hits are registering.

I’ve tried tweaking the velocity to no avail. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you have to tweak (increase) the sensitivity of your snare drum.

Thanks Brad – it doesn’t seem like this head unit allows adjusting sensitivity for the pads (aside from the pedals). It seems strange that I can hear the fast rolls in EZDrummer directly – even during recording, but there is no trace of them when I play back the recording. Any other suggestions, or is the only solution upgrading my electric kit?
