Thanked by: Prey TorcheNice one. I had that first release of dfh and have been using toontrack ever since. By the way recordings I did with dfh are still sounding great now.
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
Wait, so buying NEW YORK STUDIOS VOL.1 SDX doesnt make sense cause its already in the core library?
If you never purchased Superior Drummer 2, then it makes sense.

If you have SD2 yes, it’s the core library. If you don’t have SD2, then you have to purchase NY VOL 1.

ah I see…. what do we think of those tactics from toontrack? a bit greedy, no?
No, not greedy at all. If you want it and don’t have it, you have to buy it.
jord
sure, but now i’m doubting, why didnt they include it in SD3 if it was the core library of SD2? perhaps they thought that the ‘new’ SD3 core was vastly better? then i might have to reconsider
Why should they include it? It’s a different library. Just because it was the core library of SD2, it doesn’t automatically mean that SD3 owners are entitled to it if they never owned SD2.
You’re going to find that all libraries are improving as time goes on. It will be the same when SD4 is released with new features. It does not mean the older libraries are less relevant. If they are useful to you then you get them.
