Up until today, all of my EZX libraries opened correctly in EZD3, standalone or VST. But now today, randomly, 8 of them give the pop up warning of “The sound library ‘XYZ’ needs to be updated or reinstalled. Please use the Toontrack Product Manager to do this.” Interestingly, the sounds all load and can be triggered with the keyboard and the groove library, it’s just that the graphics show the empty spaces where the shells would go and empty cymbal stands.
In SD3, all of my EZX libraries and SDX libraries open, load, and play as they should. Rather than reinstall 8 individual EZX libraries over again, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling EZD3 software but still got the same issue afterwards.
Is this a known bug? I tried searching the forums and didn’t see anything before opening this thread. My fear is that if this is some sorta graphics bug, I’m going to have to keep re-installing all of these until the next update.

do you really mean randomly? Isn’t it the very same 8 libraries every time you start EZdrummer 3?
Those libraries you list are very old libraries and they should have updated graphics for EZdrummer 3. Superior Drummer 3 does not use the EZD3 graphics.

Hi John,
I mean randomly as in they were all working fine (before yesterday) after this update to 3.0.4 and on the previous EZD3 versions.
I’m not sure what I would’ve changed to have made them suddenly need to be reinstalled again? Is the suggestion just to do that then? Is it not odd that they will still load and can be played despite this warning popping up, or that it’s for these 8 and not all of my EZX’s? ( I think I have 12 total)

Well, as I wrote, these are very old EZX:s and I am pretty certain they (also) have received updated graphics for EZdrummer 3.
What happens if you open the Product Manager? Do you get a prompt to update them? If so, I would simply do that.

There is no prompt in the product manager to update them or that anything is awry. Again, as I wrote, these were all updated and working when I initially installed EZD3 at the end of July this year and continued to be working through the different updates so far up until yesterday.
I’ll give it a shot and report back.

Have you perhaps uninstalled EZdrummer 2 or EZdrummer 2 Demo recently? I think that can cause this, and you should be able to fix it by just running the installers for the latest sound library updates for the affected EZXs (goes faster than reinstalling the entire EZXs).
