When I    change my drum to a Hip Hop EZX “Academics” Drum, then drag it into Pro Tools, it changes the sound to the EZ Drummer 2 Modern Basic drum.  How do I    stop this from happening?

    EZdrummer version: 2.2.1
Operating system: macOS Big Sur (11)

Could you provide just a little more detail on what you are doing? Are you opening EZDrummer as a stereo instrument plugin within Pro Tools? Where are you dragging from and to?

I    opened EZ drummer as a stereo instrument track in Protools.  Added EZ Drummer in my first insert.  I    created a beat using the Academics drum kit in EZ Drummer, then dragged the block into Protools on the Instrument drum track.  When I    play it with the other tracks it plays using the default drums.

Did you create the groove in the plug-in and the drag and dropped to the Pro Tools timeline? Are you loading Hip-Hop EZX (Academics) within the plug-in inserted in Pro Tools? Sorry I am not quite understanding.

I am wondering if perhaps you have a Program Change in the beginning of your EZdrummer 2 track in Pro Tools? Easy to check if you go to the EZdrummer 2 plug-in settings > MIDI Events and un-check ‘Allow MIDI Program Change’. Does it behave as expected now?  If so, please find the Program change in your track in Pro Tools and change/delete it. Or leave the setting off in EZdrummer 2
