Hey guys.
I’ve gone back and forth to trying to get EZplayer (the 64bit version) to work on my system (Windows 7 64bit, EZdrummer 64bit version, Cubase 6.5 64bit) but it simply doesn’t so in frustration I’m posting here now.
If i try it in Toontrack Solo it says that it can’t find it and I have set the right vst-path over and over again, but it still says it can’t find it. I have un-installed and re-installed EZplayer several times, still the same, Toontrack Solo can’t find it even with the right path to the vst-folder (I have checked several times, the EZplayer.dll is there).
In Cubase it opens up (the vst-path is right), but it does not work there, I can open up the browser and drag midi-files into place but it does not play them back or anything. Everything else works flawlessly, like EZdrummer with all my expansions (both in Cubase and in Toontrack Solo) but this one unfortunately feels like a complete waste of money.
Any suggestions?
I found when using it in logic that it would only work after i re-selected EZ or SD2 then the player again
Might not make sense but it seemed to help EZ player realise EZ or SD2 was there. May have been a bug .
Hi,
are you sure you are setting the path correctly to the 64-bit version plugin in the 64-bit version of Toontrack solo? The 32-bit and 64-bit versions are installed in separate places and both are named ‘EZplayer.dll’.
32-bit versions are typically installed in the ‘C:Program Files (x86)VSTPluginsToontrack’ path and 64-bit versions in the ‘C:Program FilesVSTPluginsToontrack’ path.

Thanks for the replies.
Yeah, I know the paths and I’ve tried it several times. Uninstalled and reinstalled several times, every time making sure I had the right path, but nothing.
And now I just uninstalled EZplayer again, did a completely new installation again of the 64bit version, making sure it was installed in the right place and
that I had the right path set in Solo, and no, it didn’t work.
But I thought “hey, I’ll even try the 32bit version” which I have never tried before since it’s 64bit machine, running 64bit stuff only so why should I?
I’ve never installed any 32bit software on this computer, but now I did, and now it works. Why? It’s just weird to me.
Anyways, thanks for the help.
Oh, but maybe I could ask you another thing it it’s okay to do that here John?
I’m thinking of getting the crossgrade to SD 2.0 and I know that all the EZX’s will work in it, but my question is basically,
how much harder will it be for my system to run SD 2.0 than EZD? I’m basically just gonna stick with the EZX’s that I have
but I’d like the feature of adding extra drums and setting up my owns kits with x-drums but probably not stack lots of
different samples on top of each other. And I’ve heard that SD is supposed to sound better and less “machine gun”-like when
doing stuff like blast beats, and that the velocity is better, so that’s another reason.
I understand that it might be hard to tell, but like I said, I’m not going for the SDX sets that needs a lot of processing but stick
with the EZX’s since I believe they sound really good already, I just want the extra type of control that I mentioned.
I’ll move this to another place if it’s wrong, but I thought I’d just ask since I already had this one going.
Cheers,
Peter
